Begin in Madras (Chennai), the modern capital of
Tamil Nadu. Tour the ancient capital of Kanchipuram, the second holiest
Hindu town in India and an important pilgrimage site that was once home
to a thousand temples. Also, visit the seaside town of Mahabalipuram
(Mamallapuram), where 7th Century Pallavan stonecutters produced some of
the finest carving in India. While at Pondicherry, a quaint former French
Colony, take the opportunity to visit the Matri Mandir at Auroville, a
universal town of peace and harmony. Take in the majestic Brihadeswara
Temple in Tanjavur and at Madurai, a 2500 year old vibrant cultural center,
watch the evening vespers at the magnificent Meenakshi Temple, one of the
greatest Shiva temples in India.

| Day to day itinerary |

DAY 1 Chennai On arrival transfer to
the hotel and later proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of the
city covering the Kapaleeshwar Temple. Taj Connemara, Heritage Wing.

| Matri Mandir-Auroville, Pondicherry |
DAY 2 Chennai - Pondicherry Morning take the Coastal Road to
Pondicherry visiting the Shore Temples at Mahabalipuram enroute. On
arrival check in at the hotel. In the afternoon tour Auroville with
its unique Matri Mandir and in the evening explore the shopping
delights of this former French Colony. Le Grand Orient, Heritage suite.
DAY 3 Pondicherry- Tanjore Morning drive to
Tanjore and check in at the Hotel. Later in the afternoon take in
the famous Brihadeswara Temple, Palace and Bronze Gallery. Parisutham.

DAY 4 Tanjore - Madurai Morning depart for
Madurai. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the
famous Meenakshi Temples and the Naicken Palace. Return to the
Meenakshi Temple to see the evening vespers and the night
ceremonies. Taj Garden Retreat, Deluxe Room.
DAY 5 Madurai- Chennai Morning transfer to
airport to connect the flight to Chennai. Day use of Hotel Room. Day
free for shopping and to explore the bustling markets. Evening
transfer to the Airport for your onward flight.
